SCLAA T&L Experience Pays Award, sponsored by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, is to provide incentive and recognition for mature-age individuals working in the Transport, Supply Chain and Logistics industries. There are two awards in this category:
An individual who has been in the industry for more than 10 years and an individual who has been in the industry for less than 10 years.

J.J. Richards have been awarded the Blue Mountains Council Recycling Collection Contract. The contract is for a 7 year term and will involve weekly collection of residents’ 140 litre recycling bins.
J.J. Richards have been awarded the Burdekin Council Waste Collection Contract. The contract is for an 8 year term and will use a three bin system. The contract will be comprised of side loader domestic waste collection services as well as commercial and industrial waste services using RORO and Front Lift vehicles. The contract will assist in our continual development and growth within the Townsville region.
September 2008 saw the commencement of operations at J.J. Richards’ Transfer Station at Stapylton. This facility is designed and licensed to accept domestic and commercial/industrial waste, and has a capacity in excess of 120 000 tonnes per year.
The facility is designed to allow for the extraction of recyclable materials such as timber, metals and cardboard for recycling, prior to pushing the remainder of the waste into B-double walking floor transfer trailers for transport to the TiTree BioEnergy Facility at Willowbank. At TiTree the remaining waste undergoes rapid stabilisation using bioreactor technology to generate clean power.
