History of J.J.Richards

J.J. Richards & Sons Pty Ltd was established by Joseph John Richards.

On May 25th 1932, Joe won the first Murwillumbah municipality garbage and sanitary contract with his tender price of one farthing, converting the council operated horse and dray collection system to automotive vehicles.

Custom built garbage vehicles were unavailable at the time, so Joe designed and built his own, commencing an era of innovation, trial and continual improvement in waste management processing equipment.

Thus began the family commitment to product development, trialling and refinement, continued to this day by Joe's children and grandchildren.
